Tomorrow is my birthday. I'm turning 31 so the excitement is minimal, BUT I'm offering some deals as a celebration.
Behind the scenes, I've been working a lot on the back end of my business. Slowly creating systems. Slowly automating. Slowly bringing on help. Announcements on it all coming soon!
I made a whole video on everything: here, but for the written (and much shorter) version:
1. I have two surveys. One for content you'd like from me: here. This will also include questions on future livestreams. Secondly, I'm slowly hiring more people. I'm specifically looking for graphic designers, photographers (in Colorado), editors, social media people, etc. It won't be right away and probably not for a few months, but I'm opening the doors now for down the line. I don't really need content writers or copywriters, but feel free to shoot your shot if you want to, anyway. I don't need a cover letter or any of that nonsense, but please have a portfolio and possibly mention your rate. Apply: here.
2. To support the livestreams (that will be free), since I haven't set up a Patreon or anything yet, I do have an option to buy me a coffee. All $ will go toward making more accessible content.
3. Mentioning that, for the next week (ending on June 30th at noon), Power Hours will be $31 (in honor of my 31st birthday), and the month-long mentorship will be $310. It starts July 1st (no exceptions at the moment).
For the mentorship, this might be the last month for a few months that it's available. I have some other projects eating up a ton of bandwidth, so if you ever wanted to join, this is it for a minute. (Which is also why I'm trying to offer livestreams and other help for people it doesn't work for.)
Check them both out: here.
4. While there is no sale on Pipeline, the edited version will be coming out in about two weeks and the price will be going up. Anyone who buys the current version will be getting the upgraded version at no cost. Also all future revisions will be available for free, too.
5. The video above goes deep into my experience of operating with ethics and integrity in an industry that doesn't have a ton of it. If you're persuading people to take action with your words, you need to be careful about which companies you write for and work with. This topic came up because copywriting and politics are deeply intertwined. Words and framing things is the backbone of propaganda and also educating people. If you're a writer, please make sure you're careful about the things you write and how you're framing things.
Also, if my past emails/posts didn't make it abundantly clear, Black Lives Matter. Period. Please find a local business to support: here. That is way more important than anything I could offer. I'm also trying to find an organization to give proceeds to all of the above to in July. Please let me know if you have a favorite out in the world.
As always, if there's anything I can help you with, just hit "reply" to this email and let me know!
Take care of yourselves. One of my favorite foods is sushi and Italian so if you needed an excuse to splurge on some food, please use my birthday as one.
I can see your poor spouse trying to understand why you're buying $60 worth of sushi in honor of some nerd on the internet, but the mental image is definitely making me laugh.
I'm also getting myself Animal Crossing because the calm joy of that game is exactly what I need in my life. (Please tell me this trailer isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen in your life. Unless you're not a gamer than it probably looks so strange.)
Some exciting things are coming in the next few months once I tweak just a few more systems and set it all up. Can't wait to share it all with you. <3
